MGCCQ HILLCLIMB SERIES, Rd 2 - 25-26 March, 2023

Whilst the competition was taking place, two Koalas were high up in a tree watching, yet not really caring of the action on display below which probably interrupted their Sunday rest. They remained high in the fork branches of the tree for the day.

So for the action where Robert Martin was the best in the Regularity class in his Daihatsu Handi.

Fastest Sedan was Gavin Taylor while the quickest sports car over the weekend was Jim Heymer in his Farrel L Clubman.

The Volkswagen marque was well represented with Chris Beahan (Allman Formula Vee), Gavin Taylor (VW Golf), Dave Sidery (VW Beetle), Noel Dore (VW Beetle), Stephen Natoli (VW Beetle) and Christopher Bakker in his Volkswagen Kombi Van.

Those attending watched the great competition in the Road Registered Sedan class as Mark Cunningham secured the win with a 0.05 of a second time faster than Jarrad Olazabal.

In the Formula Libre class Up to 1300 ccs Jim Milliner came from behind to claim the class with a 40.49 time just 0.60 of a second from David Quelch, with some 0.30 from Luke Weiks and 0.53 of a second from Michael Ciccotelli.

Fastest times were set by Dean Amos (36.71 seconds), Warwick Hutchinson (38.12), Jim Milliner (40.49), David Quelch (41.09), Luke Weiks 41.39), Michael Ciccotelli (42.32) Greg Tebble (43.87), Matt Read (44.47), Mick Harders (45.90), Gavin Taylor (46.56).

Unfortunately as the Top Six Shootout commenced, the heavens decided to open, making the track conditions slippery. Results were Jim Milliner (53.96), Mick Harders (55.98), Luke Weiks (62.71), Greg Tebble (79.49) with both Warwick Hutchinson and Dean Amos not venturing given the loss of traction on the track surface.

Next hill climb event at Mount Cotton will be after the Easter holiday break on the weekend of 29-30 April.
