MT COTTON HILLCLIMB SERIES- Round 4, 27 - 28 July, 2024

The second event during the Winter months saw Warwick Hutchinson driving his turbocharged rotary powered OMS28 record the fastest time of day with his best time of 38.62 seconds.
Next was Dean Tighe in his turbocharged Hayabusa Empire Wraith with a 39.24 run and Brett Bull 40.25. Brett was driving the DJ Firehawk turbo of Michael von Rappard and only sat in the car on Saturday morning. Brett’s first run was a cautious 46.28 then 41.62 and followed by his best for the day of 40.25 seconds.
Times for fellow drivers in the Formula racing car classes were Jim Milliner (OMS 2000M, 41.52), Luke Weiks (Empire, 42.63), Mick Harders (Esprei KZ kart, 43.73), Ed McCane (OMS CF4, 44.90), Mitchell Allwood (AMAC Mk 1, 45.36) and Darren Rath in the first David Quelch homebuilt DPQ Honda with his best of 49.35.
Class win in the Sports car classes went to Dave Roberts (MGB), Ben Stevens (Lotus Elise), Jeff Graham (Mazda MX5), Connor Tebble (Locost Clubman) and Jim Heymer (Farrel Clubman).
Sedan type classes went to Andrew Harris (BMW), Waco Hamlin (Honda Civic), Harry Doling (Subaru BRZ), Chris Balhatchet (Renault Megane), Adrian Purcell (Subaru WRX), Noel Dore (Volkswagen Beetle), Brendan Merrick (Datsun 120Y), Daryl Morton (Morris Cooper S), and Scott Anable (BMW 325i).
Rob Souter won the Regularity class in his Toyota Corolla from Robert Martin (Daihatsu Handi), Chris Lake (Toyota 86) and Phillip Bryan in his Ford Mustang hardtop.
Top Six Shootout was won by Dean Tighe (38.49) with Warwick Hutchinson (38.63), Luke Weiks (41.93), Mick Harders (43.68) and Ed McCane (45.12).
Next event will be in the Spring and should be much warmer and pleasant for all attending.
