Dean Amos was the fastest runners at the first event at Mount Cotton for the year. Driving his Gould GR55B V8 Nicholson McLaren Dean was in the lead from his first run with a 37.83 seconds, before recording his best run over the weekend of 36.35 seconds.

Second was Dean Tighe in his Supercharged Empire Wraith with a best run of 37.00 from Warwick Hutchinson (OMS Rotary turbo, 38.29).  Warwick had a quick spin going into the second loop, keeping the OMS on the track. As Mrs Hutchinson said was more class than ……..or that is what I believe was stated.

Next was Brett Bull Van Diemen Kawasaki turbo (38.78) until a misfire developed which put an end to his weekend.

Fastest Sports car was Mark Crespan (45.49), from Jim Heymer (46.70), Jeff Graham (48.61), Rod Thomas (48.63), Greg King (50.89), Ben Stevens (52.78).

Dean Amos ventured up from Casino plus fellow travellers Ed McCane down from the Bundaberg area, Dave Roberts from Wide Bay, Chris Ryan from the Sunshine Coast plus Gloria from the McAndrews Family Racing from Murwillumbah

Noel Dore had his team of supporters (obviously a family dynasty) who cheered every time the Volks Wagen Beetle was on the track. To show solidarity with the Marque the supporters gave an equal cheer for Dave Sidery in his Volks Wagen Beetle.

Top Six Shootout also went to Dean Amos (36.42) from Dean Tighe (36.97), Warwick Hutchinson (38.75), Jim Milliner (40.82), David Quelch (41.65) and Luke Weiks (42.15).
