
MT COTTON HILLCLIMB SERIES- Round 1, 21 - 22 February, 2026
First event for the year saw competitors eager to try the new smoother surface. Drivers using some caution to find any differences from the previous conditions.
After the first runs on Saturday the quickest twelve times set were by Ross Mackay (40.54), Steve Woodbridge (40.88), Warwick Hutchinson (42.13), Jim Milliner (42.75), Greg Tebble (43.20), Paul Van Wijk (44.00), Matt Read (44.25), Ian Rennick (44.28), Michael Larymore (44.36 and quickest sports car), Cody Collins (fastest Sedan, 44.54), Mick Harders (45.04), David Quelch (45.34 seconds time).
From the times set on Sunday the Regularity class went to Robert Martin (Daihatsu Handi) with a loss of 7 points from Chris Lake (Toyota 86) down 9 points, Shaun Rankin (BMW Z4, 29 points), Stephen Callaghan (MGB, 33 points) and Lindsay Berriman (Toyota Starlet, 59 points).
Quickest half dozen times for sports cars saw Michael Larymore set a new class record of 43.85 seconds followed by Greg Turnham (45.45), Jim Heymer (47.11), Ainsley Fitzgerald (48.51), Simon Rhodes (48.73), Dave Roberts (50.11).
Sedans cars times saw times by Cody Collins run a 43.92, Tyson Cowie (47.95), Waco Hamlin (48.12), Brendan Merrick (48.13), Jae Collins (48.35), Hannah Youd (48.39), Michael Bird (48.67), Harry Doling (48.75).
Dean Amos recorded the fastest time of day (37.74) with Warwick Hutchinson (39.39), Ross Mackay (39.64), Steve Woodbridge (40.68), Jim Milliner (41.94), Connor Tebble (42.16), Ian Rennick (42.71), Greg Tebble (43.20), Paul Van Wijk (43.42), Matt Read (43.46).
