2018 QLD HILLCLIMB CHAMPIONSHIPS
This event was held in perfect weather and conditions with the result that competition was keen right throughout the field and classes, especially so in the two Hillclimb specialist classes for Formula Libre. In the smaller capacity class - 751 - 1300cc, there were seven entrants and, of these, two posted 40+ times and 3 were in the 41s. Worthy winner was Jim Milliner. In the larger class, 2001cc and over, 50% of the 30 runs taken by the 6 class competitors were sub 40s runs! Dean Amos (NSW) was fasted and took the QHC title back home with him. 2nd and 3rd outright places were filled by Dean Tighe (Qld) and Michael Von Rappard (Qld) with taking out the Fastest Qlder award.

Other major trophy winners are listed here and photos of the presentation of their trophies are below.
As well as this, 6 class records were broken on the day by Stephen Purdy (Group O - Racing), Geoff Cohen (Group Q - Sports cars), Philip Heafey (AWD Forced induction), Harry Doling (Road registered up to 2000cc), Ross Mackay (Sports Sedans, 16o01-2000cc) and Barry Evans (MG record)

Photos of Friday and Saturday at the QHC weekend taken by Ian Colley can be viewed from this link. Ian was unable to be at the hillclimb on the Sunday for the competitive runs.
