MT COTTON HILLCLIMB SERIES, Rd 3, 30 June  - 1 July, 2018

Fortunately Saturday was a fine day and the competitors took advantage of it because the rain came down on Sunday causing an early halt to the event. Four records had been broken on the Saturday and Dean Tighe set a Fastest Time for the event with a scintillating 37.00 run  but there was no chance to improve on any of these in the unfavourable conditions on Sunday.  The four record breakers were Greg Tebble who lowered his Group R- Racing record to 42.67, Steve Purdy (Group O - Racing) lowered his record to 50.96, Geoff Cohen (Bulant Mk 7L) lowered the Group Q - sports record to 52.18 and Ross Mackay once again broke the sports sedans up to 2000cc record with his 44.74 run.

Greg Tebble was the only competitor who braved the conditions for the Top Six competition and consequently won it with his 65.25s run (possibly setting a record for the slowest winning Top Six run).

The photos below were taken by Steve Johns on Saturday and we thank him for them.

PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES TO WINNERS OF TROPHIES AT ROUND 3 OF THE SERIES

There was no presentation of trophy ceremony at the end of Round 3 due to the bad weather which had had everyone scurrying home. The trophies  from that event were presented on Sunday 5 August at the conclusion of Rd 4 competition. Copies of these photos are available on request - contact Elaine Hamilton at zzehamil@gmail.com and she'll send you the file.
