CHRISTMAS PARTY, 2023

The Christmas Dinner/Party on Saturday 9th at Rocklea was a great success, bringing together the many faceted areas that make up our MGCCQ.

Thank you to Jeanne Robinson, Jan Tomkinson, Julie (Neil's friend) who worked together to serve the meals that we thought were not going to arrive!!!  David Robinson and his helpers manned the Bumpa Bar, thank you.  Wayne Kirwan was the all round helper, no job too small for him and it was a great chance for him to meet up with old friends from National Meetings and to make new friends too.

Karen and Lloyd ensured we had a wonderful Cent auction with a great variety of donated items, all beautifully presented.  The winners were grinners and it was heartwarming that many items were offered for a redraw due to someone winning several items and felt sharing was caring!!!

The camaraderie of the evening embodied the spirit of our Club and how a price cannot be put on the fellowship and friendship that the club fosters.  It is a great way for those who would otherwise be alone to be part of a group who has no agenda other than the enjoyment of cars and company of others.

A new program for the Club calendar has just been introduced. For our administrators it makes data entry easier and  the task can also be shared; importantly for you, the layout is very clear and user-friendly. We hope you like it. Go to the calendar page of  the website, have a look and explore the options for viewing the information - day, week, four weeks, month and list.

CONCESSIONAL REGISTRATION UPDATE OF INFORMATION, Feb 2009, RE TAKING SIV REGISTERED VEHICLES TO THE CLUBROOMS.

Recently I was asked by a couple of members to seek clarification from Queensland Transport as to whether or not our members are permitted, under the restrictions of Special Interest Vehicle Registration (commonly referred to as 'Concessional Registration'), to drive their concessionally registered cars to the Clubrooms on a Friday night for the weekly Friday night Noggin 'n' Natters. The guidelines which are published on the Qld Transport website and the letters which those with cars on this type of registration received from Qld Transport last year certainly did not give a clear indication of whether or not this usage was permitted. Please click here to read the response from Queensland Transport in full.
