AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE MGCCQ MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE TO ALL MEMBERS:
The health and safety of all our members, their families along with fellow enthusiasts, volunteer officials and helpers are of upmost importance to us. Hence the Management Committee of MGCCQ has decided to cancel many scheduled events during this uncertain period of the Corona Virus Covid-19 Pandemic.
Along with other car clubs in Queensland, as well as MG Car Clubs in Australia MGCCQ has cancelled all competition events (Race Meeting at Morgan Park on 27-29 March; club hillclimbs at Mount Cotton on 18-19 April and 2-3 May; as well as the Queensland Hillclimb Championships on 29-31 May) until the 30 June 2020. This will be reviewed on 26 May 2020.
Advertised Social events (e.g. day runs) have been postponed as we await the immediate period. The clubrooms are also closed until further notice. Our decision has been guided by the Senior Medical personnel and our State Government as well as Motorsport Australia.
Other events that have been cancelled include HSCCQ Motorkhana and Khanacross events until further notice, MacLeans Bridge Sports and Classic Car Display at the Belmont Rifle Range on 24 May and the RACQ Motorfest on 12 July 2020.
Update from Club Secretary, Malcolm Spiden on 28 March:
Found out that the Morgan Park website states that the circuit is closed until 30 June 2020 thus I will anticipate that the Historic Autumn races on 9 - 10 May 2020 and Motorsport Australia State Championship promoted by CORD on 5-7 June 2020 will be either cancelled or postponed.
Have no information regarding the Short Circuit Racing Association, no mention on their website to date.
No local, State and National Championship or World Rally Championship events, no Supercars rounds, or Formula 1 Grand Prix events until post June it appears.
No interstate hillclimb events (Dapto, Grafton), will not be able to pass the 'Tick Gate' at the border before the 30 June.

NEW CLUB CALENDAR PROGRAM
A new program for the Club calendar has just been introduced. For our administrators it makes data entry easier and the task can also be shared; importantly for you, the layout is very clear and user-friendly. We hope you like it. Go to the calendar page of the website, have a look and explore the options for viewing the information - day, week, four weeks, month and list.

Important message for anyone who takes part in CAMS events.
CAMS have advised that if a new rule or a change of rule appears on their website then that information is deemed to have been distributed. Therefore, it is wise that everyone check the CAMS website often.
Entry forms for Club events will be posted on the web site on the entry page, as a PDF file, as soon as they become available. You can also register online on the CAMS Online Event Entry system.
CONCESSIONAL REGISTRATION UPDATE OF INFORMATION, Feb 2009, RE TAKING SIV REGISTERED VEHICLES TO THE CLUBROOMS.
Recently I was asked by a couple of members to seek clarification from Queensland Transport as to whether or not our members are permitted, under the restrictions of Special Interest Vehicle Registration (commonly referred to as 'Concessional Registration'), to drive their concessionally registered cars to the Clubrooms on a Friday night for the weekly Friday night Noggin 'n' Natters. The guidelines which are published on the Qld Transport website and the letters which those with cars on this type of registration received from Qld Transport last year certainly did not give a clear indication of whether or not this usage was permitted. Please click here to read the response from Queensland Transport in full.
THE CLUB JOINS FACEBOOK.
The Club has a Facebook page named MG Car Club of Qld inc and Mt Cotton Hillclimb. The aim of having this page is to use it as another way of getting messages to Club members. Its purpose is to complement this website, not replace it. Click here for our page!!
