THE OCTAGON
WINNER OF THE NATIONAL MAGAZINE TROPHY - 2005 & 2007 NATIONAL MEETINGS.

The Octagon, the magazine of the MG Car Club of Qld Inc, has been published since January, 1957. Prior to that, newsletters had been published to keep members up to date with activities. Over the years, thanks to the dedication of some Club members, its publication has continued in various forms.

The first issues were printed on spirit duplicators before the ‘new’ technology of ink duplicators took over; then, photographs gradually became incorporated along with advertising. Now, of course, with modern technology, the latest Octagons are very smart-looking magazines.

The Octagon page has been added to the Website to allow you better access for submitting material for the ‘Octagon’ so that it can become even more representative of the Club and its members. We would love to have more members submitting items for inclusion.

Here are some possibilities:

 -
A letter to the Editor
 - A bit of publishable gossip about a club member or activity for ‘Sump Plug’
 - A bit of trivia for ‘Bits and pieces’
 - An original cartoon or piece of art work
 - An article about -

  • a trip you have done in your MG
  • restoration you have undertaken to an MG
  • a competition you have entered in an MG
  • your ideas for Club activities
  • a road test of an MG, old or new
  • why you joined the Club
  • anything that is of interest to a number of Club members

Just write your contribution and submit it through here or post it to the Club’s postal address, GPO Box 1847 Brisbane 4001.

Old Copies of Octagon:

Here is a list of old Octagons wanted:

1959 – July, August, October, November, December
1960 – January, February, May, June, Aug, Sept
